The quiet hour...

Kids are sleeping… Both… I actually have time to myself. Maybe even a few minutes. And there is no way I’m using this precious time for doing dishes. Or making dinner. Or doing another set of laundry. (How did one baby go through four pants in one morning? HOW?) And I’m not cleaning up this mess. The ten thousand cars jammed in every nook and cranny of this house look like a whole new exquisite home décor idea. Maybe I should even snap some pics and send to “House and Home”…

But not now…

Cause now I’m chilling…

By myself…

In peace and quiet… Because Lion King is finally turned off. No more roaring Simba. And Bob the Builder is off to lunch. And TV is broken. Yes, it’s broken. Until I feel like turning it back on. Cause I said so.

And I’m not reading about that truck anymore.

And bunny and turtle are sleeping.

And we are out of ice-cream. And pop-corn. And cookies. And chocolates. And where the heck did he learn all those words?

And red pepper is just like chocolate. And carrot is a cake.

And baby is sleeping. No touching baby. No poking baby. No pulling baby. No giving baby the truck. No pinching his nose…

It’s the quiet hour…

Or a minute…

No, wait… I think the baby’s waking up…

Oh well…

Maybe I can still do those dishes…

About your kids' dinner, try home made soup! My 1 year old eats soup both lunch and dinner.

1 potato, 1 carrot, 1/2 onion as a base. You can add any kind of vegetables and make several diferent soups and creams. Try green beans, cabbage, sweet peas, whatever! You cann also add boiled meat or fish if they like it. When cooked add a litle olive oil and "voilá"!

You can freeze the soup. When needed put it in the microwave and heat it well. It takes just a few minutes and is as good as if it was just made.

Time to youself is nice. Too bad you can't have more of it. I've always wonder about the dirty clothes too. Our kids are the same way. Now the two oldest ones can change on their own and do so even when their clothes are not dirty.

I rarely get a moment to myself with Julia, so I cannot imagine what it must be like with two!

About

I'm a 29 year old mom of two! A toddler (kiddo one) and a new baby (kiddo junior). I am also the most horrible (as in I barely ever do it) cook that I have met in my life. This blog is a diary of my attempts to feed my hungry growing family

PS: My name is not actually Vasilisa... But I find that honest reporting comes easier when there is a shred of anonymity. (Apparently, posting pics of my sons doesn't count...)

PPS: For those of you wondering where on the planet I am: I'm cosily tacked away in the Torontonian suburbia of the Great White North (Canada).

The Beginnings

What is all this?

Listening

To music, naturally.

All kinds of books. Haven't figured out how to post links to them yet.
