brooding

Leftovers, and more leftovers…

Which left a lot of time over for thinking and brooding. Over things like life, and where it is going. Did you ever notice how dreams you once had start slipping away? At first they get adjusted, as in “not by 20, but by the time I’m 25… ok, make it 30”. And then they get altered: “well, not all that… but maybe part of it?”

Whenever I feel like a dream is slipping away, I begin to feel old. I know that in calendar years I really am a young woman, but that doesn’t help the feeling. Cause I don’t think age is a calendar thing. I think it’s a hopes things. It’s the mental “to do” list for your life. And when you start fearing that some things won’t get done, you get older.

And I still want it done. Cause the moment I’ll give up on it completely, my life will loose its charm. My faith in myself will be broken. And where can you go from there?

A very wise post. I agree that having dreams, hopes, and goals keeps us feeling young, no matter what age. Once hope for something new is gone, then I don't really think anything is left.

About

I'm a 29 year old mom of two! A toddler (kiddo one) and a new baby (kiddo junior). I am also the most horrible (as in I barely ever do it) cook that I have met in my life. This blog is a diary of my attempts to feed my hungry growing family

PS: My name is not actually Vasilisa... But I find that honest reporting comes easier when there is a shred of anonymity. (Apparently, posting pics of my sons doesn't count...)

PPS: For those of you wondering where on the planet I am: I'm cosily tacked away in the Torontonian suburbia of the Great White North (Canada).

The Beginnings

What is all this?

Listening

To music, naturally.
